It was used by Nintendo as the title screen font for Super Mario Bros 1 and 2. It maintains the proportions and fit of the ITC Ronda. Taylor’s boss, Robert Trogman, named the font “Blippo Black”. The font was a black version of Burko Bold.

The font was created at the Bauhaus school in Germany and has been used in advertising and logo design for decades. Bauhaus font is a typographic identity that Herbert Bayer developed from his experimental “Universal” typeface, which was published in 1925.
